Best Planners for Busy Professionals-Emily Wiley

Emily H. Long – Associate

It’s never too late to start organizing your life. Whether it’s January 1 or July 4, keeping track of your daily appointments, dinner plans and after-work activities is a challenge, and staying on top of that challenge is even more of a challenge! One of the best ways to stay on track is to invest in a daily planner that reflects your personality, is functional and makes you want to stay on track. Here are my recommendations for the best planners.

Erin Condren Life Planners

These planners are extremely popular for their customizable designs. You can change the cover every day if you would like by gently pulling the cover off and snapping on a new one. The weekly planners can run January through December for an entire year plus the remaining months of the current year, great for those mid-July starters.

Each day is separated in sections, one for morning, noon and night. It includes a place for notes and a list for weekly goals or a grocery list. It also includes a two-sided folder, zip folder and pages of label stickers to stay organized.

The down-side to this planner is that while it is ideal for college students and moms, you have to write small to fit everything if you are more detail orientated . If you are a person who operates hour by hour or needs to write a lot, then you might not be as happy with this one.

Day Designer by Whitney English

This planner runs each day from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and includes a section for a 17-item-long to-do list. As a bonus, it includes sections for dinner plans, notes, reminders and deadlines. To help you stay focused, there is a section for you to write the most important tasks for the day. It even includes a place for you to write what you are grateful for. Everything you could ever imagine is in this planner.

It features a hard cover, which comes in multiple designs, gold corner protectors and a monthly at-a-glace calendar. The planner is a little pricey ($59) so if you would like to try it before you commit, their website offers free printable pages to try out. But if you want to stay on the lighter more compact side, then skip this option.

The Passion Planner

If you don’t care much for design but lean more toward functionality, then the Passion Planner might be for you. It features everything from a place for appointments, to-do lists, a journal and even a gratitude log. You can choose between a dated and undated versions for whatever your preference is.

The Passion Planner comes in one color – black. It has high quality leather cover and comes in several sizes depending on your preference. Like the Day Designer, their website offers free printables to try it out before buying.

Whichever planner your choose, writing down your tasks and goals will help you stay motivated all year long.
